Postpartum washable sanitary napkins

December 31, 2021

Four years ago, on this same day, I began to heal. I started to recover from my delivery on December 16, 2017. I didn't think the birth would be so tough on my body. I had lost a lot of weight because the baby wouldn't really let me sleep or eat. We celebrated Christmas with our friends and family more than once. I'm not telling you anything new by saying that... Many moms have experienced it.

Pain relievers after childbirth

I was taking more and more painkillers. My breasts were sore and engorged for 10 days. And my scar hurt. The one most women have after giving birth but that no one talks about. You know, it's a bit taboo... The postpartum bleeding didn't help the healing of that sensitive area at all.

Is it eco-friendly to use washable sanitary pads postpartum?

Being very, very eco-granola since I devoted all my time to making our world better, I had calculated that it was more eco-friendly to use disposable sanitary pads after childbirth rather than washable ones since I wasn’t going to reuse them afterward. I had even sent my partner to buy me more than once after the birth...
Until he told me it was starting to make a lot of waste. And that it was time to switch to washable sanitary pads. That he would wash them with the little one's washable diapers every two days anyway. He was right.

Postpartum with washable sanitary pad

So there you go. From the very first day using a washable sanitary pad, my life completely changed! After 24 hours, I cut my painkillers in half and after 48 hours, no more medication!
This is exactly what the power of hemp and organic cotton is all about! It works wonders! It's gentle on our bodies, on our skin, and on the Planet.
During my second childbirth, as you can guess I didn't make the same mistake twice!!! 😊
I'm sharing a photo of me, my dark circles, and my big boy when he was 2 weeks old! Yes, yes, I loved putting him in a Halloween onesie right in the middle of December! Long live thrift stores 🙃
Et you, when was your revelation for washable sanitary pads?
