I know that guilt often overwhelms us because we think we can always do better when it comes to our choices.

However, perfection doesn’t exist.

No, I am not 100% zero waste. As a matter of fact, I don't think it's possible. 

I believe that a true zero waste way of life is made one small change at a time, consciously, without pressure. That is impactful. For the planet, and for us too.

Above all, I love to share with you how much peace of mind it brings to have a useful-life-saving-product on hand every day. We chose to create a place for it in our home, as if it had always been there. And eventually, we realize that it should have been there all along.

 

That alone makes life more beautiful and the world a better place.

Marie fil was created in 2016. Hardly anyone was talking about zero waste at that time.

I was determined to sew something meaningful and useful. This is still my priority.

It all began with a bag I designed and created to store my bread. I couldn’t find one exactly as I wanted on the market.

Many of you fell in love with them when we first met at my stand at the Grand Bazar des ruelles de Limoilou (some of you still talk about my boyfriend’s famous Breton's pancakes).

Today, Marie fil manufactures reusable menstrual pads, menstrual underwear, and a variety of useful reusable products for everyday life.

Looking back, I think sewing chose me. And I decided to make it work for us and our children.

I believe that together, in our own way, we can make the world a better place.
