Margousier (neem) oil is antibacterial and purifying. It is especially suitable for acne-prone skin and skin prone to irritation. It is also known in India for its insecticidal properties. It is, in fact, a key ingredient in several of our mosquito-repellent recipes! See the “Recettes” section.
Note that margousier oil has a distinctive smell that slightly resembles cooking. Because it is a specialty oil used in small amounts in recipes, its aroma is not dominant.
It can solidify at low temperature, which does not affect its quality. Simply run it under warm or hot water to make it liquid again.
